December 11

Since you havn´t seen much of us during the last three weeks, here are some photos from the preparation and the life onboard during the crossing.

Some of the fresh stuff, carefully washed from all Las Palmas-bugs.

Have you ever seen a more hot, prepared and handsome crew, just before start in Las Palmas.

This is the flopside with serious fishing, but a couple of photos forward you will see the upside.

A concentrated skipper steering us to St. Lucia with safe hands.

A normal morning exercise, climbing the mast top when the boat rolls +/- 30 degrees. And gee, it´s 25 meters up.

A natural talented baker. Jocke will soon start a new career, and he already has four steady customers. His breads are absolutely the best.

A normal view during the last 20 days. Beautiful, isn´t it?

The first and only surgery during the trip. The blue nail is gone and the finger is still around.

Can you feel the speed! It´s a pitty the wind didn´t last all the way to the finishing line.

When you are done with trimming the sails it´s time to trim the hair in your face.

Bosse ¨Columbus¨ Löwbäck, a great guy, seaman and Ocean explorer from Kristinehamn.

This is the flipside mentioned earlier. A spanish mackrell, between 12 - 15 kgs. Thats about the limit of what the fishing rod manage. The kitchen personell onboard now know all the different variations, wellknown and unknown, how to prepare this animal.

We did not see too many wales and dolphins, but these small, happy and crazy flying fishes were all over, a few of them stranded on Aniaras deck.

Magnus, the boss behind the mast, takes a welldeserved rest on deck.

Since we were in no real hurry, we had time for a swim now and than. Here is our happy skipper posing for the web-editor.

Our ambition, before start, was that everyone onbord should become a new Segovia, but only two stepped ashore on St. Lucia.

We are most greatful to all the relatives and friends of Jocke, especially Paula, that we could have this great guy close to us on his 50.th birthday. We tried, as good as we could, to celebrate his entrence in the adult world.

We had job to do, in the daytime as well as during the night watches. Here you see Magnus preparing something new and innovative for increasing the boat speed.

One of the most popular sessions onboard, or rather offboard, were our training sessions for a new water ballet. Here you see the Grand Final in our performance. We are right now negotiating with a handful of promotors to set up this show somewhere in the world.

We sailed in to the St. Lucia-Marina with an own-designed lamp, or rather light decoration. We are now known as the boat with the great heart.

November 18

Some photos which I hope give you an idea how great the atmosphere has been here in Las Palmas.

Photo from this morning. A beautiful sight with all boats carrying a lot of signal flags, all eager to get going.
Part of the Aniara-crew on one of the daily mingel-parties.
On his first morning onboard, Magnus delivered a relative fresh Göterborgs-Posten.
This is one of the guys applying for a free ride to the Carribbean. (atually a great preformer at one of the parties we have attended)
Let´s end for today with a quizz. Who is this guy/girl? Stays in a nice boat close to us and know how to sail. Initials MO.
